The current status of abrasion-resistant materials in foreign trade exports.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, there are currently over 2,000 companies in China engaged in the production and operation of abrasion-resistant materials, with the vast majority being small and medium-sized enterprises. Less than 20% of these companies have an annual output exceeding 10,000 tons. Due to the relatively late development of China's abrasion-resistant materials industry, despite significant progress over the past three to four decades, especially with many private enterprises gradually becoming the main force in domestic production through flexible management mechanisms, some products even rivaling those from abroad. However, overall, there is still a certain gap between Chinese abrasion-resistant materials enterprises and their foreign counterparts, both in terms of production scale and technological level.

As wear issues are inevitable and objective in industrial production, as long as there is development in the raw material-based industries, there will inevitably be a demand for various wear-resistant parts. Moreover, with the increasing demand from industries for wear-resistant components due to the country's higher requirements for resource conservation and environmental protection in industrial production, the quality demands are also rising. According to statistics, China consumes over 5 million tons of metallic wear-resistant materials annually, and this figure is growing at a rate of 15% annually. Therefore, the abrasion-resistant materials industry still has very good development opportunities in China in the future. The main customer base for Chinese exporters of abrasion-resistant materials consists of industrial sectors that require high-performance materials, such as mining, cement, steel, metallurgy, chemical, and power industries. These industries require high-performance materials during production and processing to ensure the normal operation of equipment and prolong their service life. Therefore, the main customer base for abrasion-resistant materials export enterprises is these industrial sectors and institutions.

Abrasion-resistant materials are a type of high-strength, wear-resistant special materials. With the continuous development of the global economy, the demand for abrasion-resistant materials is also increasing. As a result, the export market for abrasion-resistant materials is becoming increasingly widespread. According to data released by industry associations, China's export volume of abrasion-resistant materials products reached 3.9551 million tons in 2023. Currently, abrasion-resistant materials are mainly exported to Europe, the Americas, and Asia. The main reason is that these three regions are relatively mature in terms of global economic development and have a high demand for high-quality abrasion-resistant materials. Moreover, these regions have rapid developments in mining, construction engineering, metallurgy, and other fields, leading to a continuous increase in demand for abrasion-resistant materials. Therefore, the export market for abrasion-resistant materials is mainly concentrated in these regions.
